Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD)

The Forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD) is a prominent non-profit organization in Kathmandu, Nepal, established in 1995 by Sapana Pradhan-Malla, who currently serves on the Supreme Court of Nepal. FWLD is dedicated to eliminating discriminatory laws and implementing the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The organization has been instrumental in advancing women’s rights in Nepal, spearheading legal reforms on marital rape, inheritance rights, and reproductive rights.

In addition to its focus on women’s rights, FWLD advocates for the rights of marginalized groups, including the disabled, elderly, children, and sexual and gender minorities. The organization conducts vital research on issues such as child marriage, HIV/AIDS, sex trafficking, and sexual harassment, while also providing legal aid to victims of gender-based violence. Support FWLD in their ongoing efforts to protect and empower Nepalese women. Help with their vital work today.
