SEMA Ukraine is a survivor-led organization founded by Ukrainian women who experienced sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) as a result of ongoing armed conflict. The organization provides legal, psychological, social, and other forms of support to survivors while creating a safe space for women to connect, share their experiences, and advocate for their rights.
SEMA Ukraine works to raise public awareness of conflict-related sexual violence and its lasting consequences, while promoting a holistic model of survivor care that brings together psychosocial, legal, and medical support. Through survivor-led advocacy, the organization seeks to strengthen protections for women affected by war, advance recognition and accountability for wartime sexual violence, and challenge the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war.
