Synergie des Femmes pour les Victimes des Violences Sexuelles (SFVS)
Synergie des Femmes pour les Victimes des Violences Sexuelles (SFVS) is a North Kivu-based organization in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) that has been providing psycho-social, medical, and legal defense services to victims of sexual violence since its formation in 2002. In a country ravaged by over two decades of war, where sexual violence is widespread and used as a weapon by soldiers, rebels, and civilians, SFVS supports survivors through 20 “listening houses” for counseling, legal assistance, and medical care, including surgical repairs and STI treatments. SFVS also advocates for justice and lobbies for tribunals to prosecute military offenders. Despite limited resources, SFVS remains committed to addressing the root causes of sexual violence and empowering survivors to reintegrate into society. Support SFVS in their ongoing efforts to protect and empower Congolese women. Help with their vital work today.
