Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling (WCLAC)
The Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling (WCLAC) is a non-profit organization founded in Jerusalem in 1991, dedicated to promoting gender equality and social justice in Palestinian society. With consultative status at the United Nations, WCLAC addresses gender-based violence through three core programs: providing social and legal services to women, building advocacy capacity among Palestinian volunteers, and lobbying for legislative change. Active across East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, WCLAC has played a key role in developing a national referral framework to help women victims of violence navigate social, legal, and health services. Their Women’s Voices Project trains female fieldworkers to research and document the impact of human rights violations in Gaza and the West Bank.
WCLAC, founded by Maha Abu-Dayyeh and now led by Randa Siniora, is a member of various human rights networks and has received numerous international awards for its human rights and leadership work. The organization continues to strive to reverse discrimination and promote women's social and legal rights according to international human rights standards. Support WCLAC in their ongoing efforts to protect and empower Palestinian women. Help with their vital work today.
